How donations work
What happens when I donate?
Your donation goes directly toward projects that help people with limited mobility — through research, therapies, and innovative technologies. In the future, you will also receive a ChariToken for your donation, which gives you the right to vote on which project your money supports. This governance platform is currently in development.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), TWINT, PayPal, and offline donations (bank transfer). Card and TWINT payments are processed securely through Stripe; PayPal is handled directly by PayPal; bank transfers go straight to our account. No cryptocurrency payments are required or accepted through our donation form.
Is my donation tax-deductible? Can I get a receipt?
Vibes4Future is recognised as tax-exempt by the Canton of Bern, so donations are generally deductible for Swiss taxpayers within the limits set by federal and cantonal law. On request, we issue a donation receipt — just contact us with the details needed for it. If you are taxed outside Switzerland, please check the rules that apply in your country. (We are not tax advisors.)
What is a ChariToken?
A ChariToken is a digital token issued exclusively by Vibes4Future, and it serves two purposes. Through our Vibes4Steps app, you can already earn ChariTokens today by moving — everyday activity is turned into charitable impact. In addition, when our governance platform launches, donors will receive ChariTokens that let them vote on which project receives funding. ChariTokens have no price, cannot be bought, and carry no investment value. They exist for one reason: to connect participation with impact and give you a say in where support goes.
Do I need to understand blockchain to donate?
Not at all. You can donate with a credit card, TWINT, or PayPal just like on any other website. Blockchain is simply the technology we use behind the scenes to make donation tracking transparent and tamper-proof. You don’t need a wallet, a token, or any technical knowledge to support our mission.
Is this the same as investing in cryptocurrency?
No — and this is an important distinction. We use blockchain the same way a notary uses a stamp: to make a record permanent and verifiable. ChariTokens cannot be purchased, sold, or traded on any market. They are not a financial product. Your donation is a charitable contribution to a registered Swiss nonprofit, not an investment.
Is ChariToken the same as $VIBES? Do I need to buy anything?
No. ChariToken is our internal, non-tradable token and has no price. $VIBES is a separate cryptocurrency operated by an independent third party (FutureVibes). You never need to buy $VIBES — or any crypto — to donate or to use Vibes4Steps. Donating and participating are always possible with ordinary payment methods.
Are donations refundable?
Donations are generally non-refundable, since they are put to charitable use once received. If something went wrong — for example a duplicate charge or an incorrect amount — please contact us and we will look into it and correct genuine errors. Where a refund is required by law, we will of course comply.
Can I donate monthly / set up a recurring donation?
Yes. If you would like to give on a regular basis, the simplest way today is to set up a standing order with your bank using our account details (see the donation page). We are working on adding recurring donations directly through our donation form. If you’d like help setting this up, just contact us.
What is the Vibes4Steps app and how do I earn ChariTokens?
Vibes4Steps is our free app for iOS and Android. With your consent it reads your step count (via Apple Health on iOS, Health Connect on Android) and converts your movement into ChariTokens — turning everyday activity into charitable impact. You don’t need to donate or buy anything to take part. Health data is treated as sensitive and used only for this purpose; see our privacy policy.
Trust & safety
Can ChariTokens be stolen or hacked?
ChariTokens carry no market value and cannot be sold or traded, which makes them an unlikely target for theft. The underlying blockchain record — what was given, when, and for what purpose — cannot be secretly altered by anyone, including us.
What happens to my donation record if Vibes4Future ceases to exist?
The blockchain record of past contributions remains publicly verifiable regardless of any single organization’s existence. That said, ChariTokens do not guarantee future services, rewards, or continuation of any program — those depend on the association itself.
Is Vibes4Future regulated?
Yes. Vibes4Future is a registered Swiss association with tax-exempt status granted by the Canton of Bern, subject to the same legal and tax oversight as any nonprofit in Switzerland. Our statutes and commercial register extract are publicly available on our transparency page.
How much of my donation reaches the cause?
The vast majority goes directly into projects; only the minimum needed to keep operations running is retained, and our management works on a voluntary, unpaid basis.
How we track your impact
How can I see where my donation went?
Once our governance platform launches, every ChariToken transaction will be recorded on a public blockchain ledger. This means the flow of contributions can be independently traced and verified — by you, by journalists, or by auditors — rather than relying solely on our own reporting.
Is my identity public on the blockchain?
No. The blockchain records the transaction itself — amount, timestamp, and wallet address — not your personal identity. Your name and personal details are handled separately under our privacy policy and are never published on-chain.
Governance & partnerships
Who is FutureVibes and why are they involved?
FutureVibes is the technology company that builds and provides the governance platform, including the ChariToken system and the Vibes4Steps app. It was founded by two members of the Vibes4Future board, who contribute their technical expertise to the mission. FutureVibes provides this infrastructure pro bono — at no cost, with no fees, no profit, and no financial ties to the association.
How do you handle conflicts of interest?
We disclose the relationship between Vibes4Future and FutureVibes openly, in line with recognised Swiss nonprofit governance standards. Board members with a personal interest in a related decision step aside from that decision. No money flows between Vibes4Future and FutureVibes in either direction — there is no profit flow, no fee, and no financial transaction of any kind between the two entities.
